![]() Paradox announced in a post on the developer diary this week that version 1.5 will bring support for same-sex marriage, “ not just in mods, but as a new game rule alongside the same-sex relationships game rule, so you can use it in unmodified games as well.” They add that “ updated a variety of logic, interactions and AI content to take this into account when playing". Well, it took a long time to include this option in Crusader Kings 3, but it's coming in better shape than expected. They re-enabled support for same-sex concubinage mods with an update in June 2021, and planned support for same-sex marriage mods next. Paradox replied: “ In no way has this been implemented to deliberately prevent players from including same-sex relationships in the game.”. Then in March 2021 a patch broke these mods, breaking the method they used. ![]() This left players working around this by making mods to allow same-sex concubinage, although same-sex marriage mods were not possible (unlike CK2). While characters in the historical strategy game can be straight, gay, bisexual, or asexual, same-sex marriage is not allowed. Crusader Kings 3 Crusader Kings 3 will add same-sex marriages to fix mod issue
